Technology
“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”
Technology
The technology program at Tuskawilla Montessori recognises the importance of computers in the daily life and future of our students success. Our vision for technological growth is centered around three core subject areas which include, computers in the classroom, certification within Microsoft Office and robotics.
Classroom computers are tools for our students to conduct research, build presentations and enhance academic achievement. We believe that our students gain valuable life skills through the acquisition and mastery of word documents, powerpoints and spreadsheets developed within the Microsoft package. These skills are introduced in the first grade and developed throughout the child’s elementary years, culminating in the certification process of Microsoft Office.
Upon entering middle school, students are introduced to programming through the use of Lego Mindstorm robots. Participation in the First Lego League allows our 7th and 8th grade students to work and learn collaboratively and compete in local and national competitions.
